Trasierra is a privately owned hotel set high in the Sierra Morena Mountains 80km north of Seville in the heart of Andalucia. This historic 16th Century house stands in an aromatic garden surrounded by three thousand acres of olive and orange groves and has been the property of Charlotte Scott and her family for 40 years.
“Under sunny Spanish skies, blissful simplicity is all you need!”
Trasierra is more like a home and Charlotte has carved this wonderful sanctuary with love and with the utmost attention to every detail. She created this ‘home’ for people who prefer a homely feeling and who appreciate peace and privacy.
“Arrive at Trasierra and you’ll never want to leave” – Photographer Bruce Weber
Kate Moss was one of the models he took photographs of in this hidden place. There are even some rumors that Lady Diana slept here, I don’t know for sure it’s true but I can imagine. Trasierra is in one of the most beautiful locations in Spain. It sits in delightful seclusion amidst carefully planted gardens dotted with massive terracotta amphorae behind great white walls that lead to the hills of Andalucia’s wildest landscape…light years away from the busy Costas.
Trasierra has all the amenities of a small luxury hotel and the scale and aesthetic of a grand, sprawling country house. British country chic with a Spanish twist and all rooms are different.
‘Simple whitewashed walls, high ceilings, soft restful colors and unfussy decoration give a feeling of peace.’
Local stone floors and Spanish rush matting are cool in summer and cosy in winter.
Large comfortable sofas and beds were transported from England and the furniture is designed locally. Fabrics from Spain, Portugal and India, Moroccan carpets, all kind of cultures comes together here. You won’t find TVs or minibars but you will find stunning scenery, carefully chosen books and jugs of fresh lemonade. The outside world appears to fade away here, all sense of hurry being gone and everything you need appears as if by magic in the heart of wild and romantic southern Spain.
“It’s a beautiful place to lose your self in the nature, food and surroundings. If you want the most tranquil and restful stay of a lifetime, then this is the place!”
